Artist Statement

My artistic work stands on the edge of a cliff. Performing and creating movement balances the tension between control and surrender. Suspended between the known and unknown, I take carefully calculated risks derived from intuition. Fear and tension are paradoxically calm and poised. Internal instincts and external reactions access and push physical and mental boundaries. Peace is found in suspension, and uncertainty is embraced with vulnerability.
I seek visceral intricacies, shared embodiment, and to latch onto the forever fleeting present.
I welcome the ever-changing nature of the human body and our world and am inspired by adaptability, resilience, and fragility.
I am deeply curious about the neurological mechanisms involved in dancing, watching, and choreographing dance—to uncover how our brains and bodies connect, express, and transform through movement. Through this research, I hope to enrich my creative practice, expand the boundaries and impact of dance, and deepen the connection between art, science, and the human experience.
